But the percentage of Internet users has predictably grown.

Post by tanjimajuha20 »

Sociologists reported that over the past five years, the share of Russians who do not watch TV has almost tripled. If in 2018, only 13% boycotted TV, now there are 31% of them, according to VTsIOM.

This, however, is not surprising. The only surprising thing about such studies is that they are still being conducted. Although, it would seem, the confrontation between television belarus whatsapp resource and the Internet has long since lost its meaning. Both are just means. It is much more interesting how the attitude of consumers to media content in general has changed, no matter where this content is broadcast.

Yes, the times when television was contemptuously called a "zombie box" can already be considered historical. It's not that no one speaks like that anymore - after all, we still have a lot of dinosaurs who strive to show off their progressiveness with yesterday. We still have a lot of people who hang up when they finish a conversation on their mobile phone. It happens. These are, so to speak, linguistic curiosities. But of course, there are no boxes anymore, and the prefix "zombie" can be used with other words. "Zombophone", for example, also sounds interesting. "Zombotablet" is not so good, there is some kind of phonetic nonsense here, but "zombiebook" is incredibly organic. And capacious, and scary, and somehow, you know, sobering.

Well, what, you say, do the technologies of fooling the population not work on the Internet, which users access from a phone, a laptop, and a smart TV? And what if the user watches on a tablet all the same channels and programs of official television, which are considered the most discredited by the conventional progressive humanity? Even if the Internet user is glued exclusively to feeds with cats, how is he different from housewives who do not tear themselves away from cooking shows on some "Friday"? And if someone is stuck in some trash streams on YouTube, then isn't he a twin brother of someone who enthusiastically follows DNA investigations on NTV?

In general, what’s interesting is not how people consume content, but what kind of content it is, how much of it there is in the life of the average person, and what it correlates with.

Well, let's look at TV first. Who is its main client and what do they want? According to a Mediascope study conducted at the end of 2022, the main audience of TV channels is people over 54 years old (52.5%), viewers aged 35-54 make up almost a third (29.5%), 18-34 years old - 11.5%, another 6.4% are children aged 4-17. The average time that consumers spend watching TV is 5.5 hours. By the way, ten years ago our people spent 1.5 hours less on this. But this is a little less than in 2017 - then TV ate up almost six hours. The most popular channels today are "Russia-1" (26.9%), Channel One (24.9%) and NTV (19.9%). The situation was roughly the same five years ago, but in a different order. Channel One was then the first in the literal sense, with 35% preferring it. But now it is leading in the most active age group of 18-44 years.
