Concept and features of management decisions
Any decision that affects the company's activities can be considered managerial. However, not all decisions of managers and employees are of this type. Researchers in the field of management identify a number of specific features inherent in management decisions:

they come down from the management and are implemented at the level of subordinates;

take into account the main goals and objectives of the enterprise;

must be accepted by a person who has the necessary authority and competence within the scope of his position;

their real feasibility.

A line manager's decision to revise the company's mission cannot be considered managerial. Firstly, it is beyond his or her competence, since the board of directors is responsible for this. Secondly, such a decision goes up the hierarchy, which contradicts the established rules of subordination.

An idea can be proposed to management as an initiative. If top managers accept it as feasible and implement it, it will be transformed into a management decision.

The process of making a management decision includes two stages:

recognize a task or problem that requires management intervention;

determine the best option for solving the identified problem or the method for completing the task.

The effectiveness of management decisions is determined by how effectively resources are used in the process of preparing and implementing the decision. Resources include monetary and material assets, employee health, the structure of the work process, and other factors.

A management decision is aimed at achieving the established goals and targets of the company. The most effective decision is one that is successfully implemented and makes a significant contribution to the fulfillment of the final task.
