What would happen if municipal utilities jointly developed

It went into the next round. After the presentation of WHY? and HOW?, it was time for WHAT?. In ten-minute keynote speeches, the participants were shown what exactly is currently being done in the energy industry to achieve the 1.5 degree target in municipalities and cities. The focus here was particularly on implementation. There was a lot of discussion and, above all, inspiration. As part of the keynote speeches, adesso presented its contribution to the energy transition - in the form of the innovative research project VideKIS. Here, the contents of the project "Integrated virtual power plant network from decentralized small systems for AI-supported provision of system services" (VideKIS) were presented in more detail: A virtual power plant is being developed that aggregates small and micro systems in particular into a pool with the aim of providing primary control power from renewable energies. Without the provision of system services from renewable energies, the climate target of 1.5 degrees cannot be achieved.
And at the end of the event there was of course an appeal to the participants: It is five minutes to twelve. It has never been more important to act now, to implement ideas and to drive the energy transition forward together.
adesso meets SID Class – municipal utilities as successful producers and marketers of emission-free energy
Digital, progressive and with an eye on the future – this and much turkey consumer email list more connects SID and adesso. So, true to our motto “We make it simple”, we just made it simple.
As part of the SID Class, we were able to sit down with experts from the energy industry and discuss current challenges. We addressed the following questions, among others:
operated and regionally marketed emission-free power plants on a large scale?
What if smaller, rural municipal utilities jointly supplied larger municipal utilities and cities with surplus, green energy?
What could new models of cooperation between municipal utilities and general contractors for large-scale PV and wind projects look like?
What if municipal utilities could create more regional value in a zero-emissions world than was ever possible in the fossil world?
Of course, it is not possible to provide a simple strategy for implementing these far-reaching questions and scenarios. These are precisely the challenges that adesso faced two years ago when it submitted its funding application for the VideKIS research project. For this reason, VideKIS focuses explicitly on types of municipal utility systems, which often include small and very small renewable energy systems.
A virtual power plant would allow several small municipal utilities to pool their plants in a pool - for example: VideKIS - and thus participate in other markets in addition to purely local power generation. VideKIS offers the possibility of offering the power plants on the primary control power market. The additional revenues associated with this are available to the municipal utilities for new investments.
This approach from VideKIS enables municipal utilities to actively shape the energy transition and replace fossil fuels with emission-free and local energy generation. This brings the 1.5 degree target within reach and at the same time strengthens local value creation.
Finally, the in-depth exchange of knowledge and the lively discussions provided new impetus and brought us personally, but also as adesso, one step closer to the goal of the energy transition. If you are also interested in a modern, innovative and relaxed congress concept, then we will definitely see you at the next SID!
