Anyone who has tested positive for corona receives a QR code from the doctor or the responsible laboratory, which the user can use to register themselves as being infected with corona in their app. The Corona warning app then transfers all 1008 ID codes to a central server. However, the central server does not know the affected user. It only knows the 1008 ID codes, but cannot assign them to anyone. The health department does not learn of an infection from the Corona warning app, but from the doctor because of the reporting requirement.

These 1008 ID codes of the individual infected person are retrieved once a day by every installed Corona app. This is used to compare all foreign IDs that are already stored in the app. If a match is found, the app turns red and recommends a Corona test. The user does not find out who put him at risk. Conversely, no one knows who triggered the match. Both sides can decide for themselves what to do now.

But the Corona warning app can do even more: It gives basic recommendations, usa gambling data but the user decides how to deal with them. For example, if you have had too many contacts, you get yellow feedback from the app. Then you have to consider whether you should reduce your contacts, avoid people at risk, place more emphasis on keeping your distance, or leave everything as it is. This is your own responsibility.

Skeptics can rest assured that the Corona warning app only shares data if they want it to. No one will find out about their own condition.
