We rush to celebrate, but we also rush to celebrate when the world is in danger or when tragedy strikes, whether it's a natural disaster like a hurricane or, like we're in today, the spread of the coronavirus or COVID-19. For many of us, social media has replaced traditional media and news sources as the initial alert. I don’t know about you, but I learn something new about the coronavirus online every day. It’s true that I and many of you still rely on more traditional news media for ongoing news and updates, but Facebook and Twitter seem to not only inform us of what’s happening minute by minute, but social media reflects the situation in unique ways Emotion and humanity.
When we’re in a crisis, we want more than lawyer database just facts. We want to share experiences. We want to express our anger or sympathy. It’s the emotion of the moment that pulls us into social channels and keeps us there, eager to engage. This is why people react so strongly when someone else makes a mistake. something insensitive or selfish, emotions can get so intense that people can go crazy. So, what do we do with social media when the country or the world is in crisis? The truth is, if not handled properly, you create your own crisis.
