Two out of five seniors use a smartphone

The most important device for seniors is the traditional desktop PC. More than half (54 percent) use a desktop PC at least occasionally; two in five (42 percent) use a laptop, and one in five (20 percent) use a tablet PC. 41 percent use a smartphone , but a quarter (25 percent) still use a regular cell phone without a touch display or apps. Three in ten (30 percent) use a smart TV. And one in nine (11 percent) uses a fitness tracker.

The 65+ generation is increasingly willing to use france gambling data digital health solutions. Two out of four internet users aged 65 and over (38 percent) now have reminders for doctor's appointments sent to them by text message or email, and a further 53 percent can imagine doing this. 37 percent already make such appointments online, and two out of five (42 percent) would do so in the future. One in five communicates with their doctor by email (21 percent) or messenger (19 percent), and a further 48 percent and 46 percent can imagine doing this.

Currently, 6 percent of online seniors use telemedical monitoring, and half (50 percent) would do so in the future. Digital health services, which will only be available in the coming years, are also attracting great interest among older internet users. More than one in two (53 percent) can imagine using electronic patient records, and 40 percent can imagine using e-prescriptions. "Digitization in the healthcare sector can improve medical care and significantly reduce the risk of infection for older people who are particularly at risk from corona," says Berg. "Many seniors show an impressive openness to digital health solutions."
