All the key words - artificial intelligence, blockchain, cyber money - are floating around in the conversations at Peet's Coffee in Berkeley, True Food Kitchen in Stanford or Morton's The Steakhouse in San José. But concrete, explainable business models with sustainability and scaling are missing. Castles in the air are being built, but they are collapsing every day. The mood here reminds me strongly of 2007, when the many "For sale" signs in the USA were a sign of the coming financial crisis.
