If you're going to open up the ASUS RT-AX86U Pro, know that it's not an easy process. I learned the hard way (and through experimentation) that in addition to the six screws on the bottom, there are two more under the giant information label. And yes, one of them has a warranty seal on it, because why not? They shouldn't mean anything in the US, but there's no guarantee that ASUS won't try to void the warranty in other countries.

Aside from the odd screw placement, the case itself appears to be curved, making it easy to damage the plastic when trying to pry everything apart. In any case, I eventually got to the PC by almost completely canada telegram data destroying the case, and found the components to be very similar to the RT-AX88U Pro. There are some downgrades, but they seem minor to me. The 2.4GHz WiFi chip is the same as the RT-AX86U, but the 5GHz WiFi chip and especially the main processor have been upgraded.
