1. Nottingham Human Rights Law Centre Annual Human Rights Conference 2022. HRLC’s 23rd Annual Student Human Rights Conference on defending the Right to Protest in Challenging Times, Wednesday 6 April 2022, 1.30 to 4.30pm UK time. Join via MS Teams. The LLM class in Human Rights Law chose the topic of this year’s conference and will bring together a range of experts to discuss the many challenges regarding the protection and enjoyment of the freedom of assembly today, online and offline, in established democracies and elsewhere. Speakers include: Katia Glod – Analyst and Political Risk Consultant and Fellow, Center for European Policy Analysis; Kirsty Hughes – Lecturer in Public Law and Human Rights, University of Cambridge; David Mead – Professor of UK Human Rights Law, University of East Anglia; Disha Ravi – Indian youth climate change activist and a founder of Fridays For Future India; Gentian Zyberi – Professor of International Law and Human Rights at the Norwegian Centre for Human Rights, Faculty of Law, University of Oslo.
2. Call for Papers: International Organizations, Elites, and Masses: Perspectives on in/Exclusion. The ESIL Interest Group on International Organizations welcomes submissions for the interest group workshop taking place at the ESIL Annual Conference on Thursday 1 September 2022, 09.00-12.00, in Janskerkhof 3, Utrecht, The Netherlands. The theme is ‘International organizations, elites, and masses: perspectives on in/exclusion’. The abstracts should be between 500 and 600 words, and be submitted, alongside a short biography of 200 words maximum in the same document, by Wednesday, 20 April 2022. 3. Call for Papers, Revista Tribuna Internacional Law Journal, Volume 11, Issue 21 (June 2022). The Revista Tribuna Internacional Law Journal is an academic publication of the International Law Department of the University of Chile’s Law School. The Journal appears online twice a year (June and December) and is available open access. This call for submissions is open to unpublished articles and monographs, case-law comments and book reviews, in the fields of international public law, international private law, international human rights law, international relations and related topics. They receive works written in Spanish and English. Article submissions should be of 8,000-9,000 words, case notes of 5,000-6,000 words and book reviews of 2,000-3,000 words. All submissions must comply with the self employed database guidelines for authors here. Contributions that have already been published or that are under consideration for publication in other journals will not be considered. The deadline for submissions is 30 April 2022. 4. Course on European and International Human Rights Standards in Disaster Settings (EIHRSDS) at the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies, Pisa. The course will take place on 27 June – 1 July 2022 and is organised in the framework of a Jean Monnet Module focussing on the protection of fundamental rights in disaster scenarios. The course is intended for students, academics and practitioners working on disaster-management issues. Deadlines for application are 16 May 2022 (I Round) and 6 June 2022 (II Round). 5. Conference on Change and Resilience in International Law, Graduate Institute Geneva, October 2022. The Graduate Institute Geneva has issued a call for papers for its conference on “Change and Resilience in International Law” which will take place from 6 – 8 October 2022 in the Chateau de Bossey outside Geneva, Switzerland. The conference will bring together an interdisciplinary group of scholars and will try to tease out how stable or adaptative international law is in the face of environmental change and shocks. It is convened by Ezgi Yildiz and Nico Krisch and forms part of the PATHS project (“The Paths of International Law”) funded by the European Research Council.
